Kadir Has University (KHU) was founded in 1997, in Istanbul. The university, with its five faculties of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Communication, Law and Fine Arts, as well as its several vocational schools, is dedicated to becoming a leader in educational and cultural fields in Turkey, as well as establishing itself as an international center for research and scientific development.

  The mission of Kadir Has University is; 

• - To provide academic education with a research-oriented approach in order to train students who are adorned with basic humanitarian and universal values, equipped with individual and professional competencies required by the age and capable of producing sustainable solutions to local, national, regional and global problems that humanity will encounter;

• - To implement social projects that will ensure that all the knowledge and resources produced are beneficial for our country and the world with the participation of our stakeholders;

Education 

  The academic philosophy of our university is based on a New Education Model that educates students with an interdisciplinary approach focused on research and practice, aiming to support students to attain basic humanitarian and universal values, to able to think independently and express their ideas clearly, recognize different world views, adapt to changes easily, question, develop leadership and teamwork skills, have social responsibility awareness and the competencies required by their expertise. 

Research 

  Our University adopts a research culture based on values of academic freedom, academic ethics and academic honesty, interdisciplinary work, teamwork, innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, university-industry cooperation, and social benefit; and a research ecosystem in which students and academics at all levels can work effectively by nurturing these basic values.

  Our university adopts a dynamic corporate structure in all administrative processes that is participatory, inclusive, based on equality of opportunity, adopts continuous improvement and stakeholder satisfaction in all its services develops resources in order to ensure its financial sustainability and uses its own resources in line with its strategic goals.

   Kadir Has University is located on the grounds of the Historical Tekel Cibali Works, which began operations in 1884 as the state tobacco depot and cigarette factory and continued to operate until the founding of the university, when the building was faithfully renovated and transformed into the main campus. Located on the shores of the Golden Horn in an area of Istanbul particularly rich in history, the main campus building, a recipient of the Europa Nostra Award, is ideally suited to the dynamics of today’s world as a center for research and education. The interior of Kadir Has University’s Cibali campus measures over 45,000 square meters, with classrooms, labs, and the university’s central library, in addition to faculties, institutes, the rectorate and deans' offices.
